I'm Julie Mattin, a qualified Specialist Teacher and Dyslexia Assessor with over 25 years' experience in education. I provide comprehensive diagnostic assessments in a calm, supportive environment, helping families gain a clear understanding of how their child learns best.

I hold a Level 7 Postgraduate Qualification in Specialist Teaching and Assessment for Dyslexia and am committed to providing thorough, evidence-based assessments. My aim is always to help children understand their strengths while identifying any barriers to learning.

Every child is unique. I take time to ensure each assessment is carried out in a relaxed and supportive environment so children can perform at their best.

The Assessment Process

Before the assessment

After securing your child's assessment, you'll receive:

Parent questionnaire
School questionnaire (where appropriate)
Detailed information about the assessment day

Assessment day

The assessment usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours.

Activities are varied and designed to help your child feel comfortable. There are regular breaks if needed.

After the assessment

Within approximately three weeks, you'll receive a comprehensive written report explaining:

Assessment findings
Learning strengths
Areas of difficulty
Whether the findings are consistent with dyslexia
Practical recommendations for home and school
